Anxiety and overwhelm:
You might be struggling with anxious thoughts that just wont go away or let you switch off.
Struggling with past experiences:
Maybe the past won’t allow you to focus on the future, but instead takes you back to a place you find difficult or distressing to be in.
Depression and low moods:
Low mental health can leave you with feelings of uncertainty and confusion over how to move forward.
Living with loss:
Life continues to move on around you but you are still sitting with the pain and sadness of your loss.
If you feel a familiarity with any of the above statements, you are not alone. Contact me on the link below to start the conversation.
I feel incredibly passionate about the work I do and genuinely privileged to be a part of the journey's my clients go on. My experiences within the therapy room have included working with relational difficulties, mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation, developmental and experiential trauma, ADHD and Autism, identity, and bereavement and loss.
As well as the above work I feel strongly about supporting parents who experience the every day stresses of navigating parenthood, whilst doing their best to balance being a mum or dad and being themselves. According to the BACP 71% of parents have felt overwhelmed and as a parent I can absolutely empathise with this feeling, as well as the attached feelings of guilt at not being the most incredible parent possible. I know though that with the right support those feelings can be explored and managed to create a much healthier place of wellbeing.
Similarly, It's important to me to encourage more men into therapy by providing a space that works with them, rather than one that can feel uncomfortable and off-putting. Contrary to the general consensus, men can absolutely talk about their feelings and what's important to them and it is for us as counsellors to better understand what is being conveyed. My work therefore strives to bridge the gap between conventional beliefs around talking about feelings and the individual ways in which we do this, and ultimately facilitate a space where men can truly benefit from counselling when they most need it.
Being a registered member of the BACP and UKAGP, you can feel assured that I work with integrity and in line with the ethical frameworks as set out by these membership bodies. Supporting you through your most difficult of times whilst upholding your rights and wellbeing is of the utmost importance to me.
So if you feel my work could benefit you then reach out to me and start a conversation that could make a real difference to your life.

Whether this is your first experience of counselling or you're returning to the therapy room, starting sessions with a new therapist can be daunting. For this reason we take the sessions at your pace, giving true consideration to what you need in the moment and focusing on the right support for you.
My work is relational, meaning that I consider a strong therapeutic relationship to be key to creating conditions for change. this type of relationship can only develop where there is trust and an empathic understanding, both of which I strive to achieve with you. I also take a trauma informed approach to the work I do, maintaining your psychological wellbeing throughout the process whilst still working at meaningful depth.
In life we can often be surrounded by people who tell us how to live and it is easy to take on these external voices as authoritative. But in our work together I will support you to find your own voice and to realise your potential for change. Put simply, I will help you to begin believing in you again.
My theoretical integration combines Carl Rogers Person Centred Theory with Gestalt and Existentialism, giving me a theoretical foundation to provide bespoke, person specific therapy. If you are interested in these different approaches please see below for an introduction to how they inform my work with you.
Whilst many counsellors work from a Person Centred perspective, I am trained to compliment my work with that of the Gestalt modality; an incredibly powerful body of work that brings a client’s felt sensation into the room to help better facilitate personal understanding. Gestalt therapy encourages work to be done on what a client feels, both emotionally and bodily, in the here and now. This can be especially powerful when finding the right words to describe what’s happening to you feels impossible. It utilises an individual’s truly unique experiences, or phenomenology, and in-session experimentation to bring life to the therapy room, allowing you as my client to experience and share your feelings and emotions in a far more congruent way.
I also bring Existentialism, a philosophical approach to important topics such as responsibility, identity, freedom and death, into my counselling. At a time where the world around us can feel wholly uncertain and ever changing I find it to be important and necessary to give real consideration to our place in the greater context, and in doing so find meaning and understanding where perhaps there was only confusion and anxiety before. Therapy can be challenging and uncomfortable. Often clients will take their sessions to places they hadn’t expected to go and feel emotions they hadn’t come prepared for. But rest assured that wherever you go in our time together you will do so in a supportive and respectful space where your experiences are validated and felt authentically.
I am based in both Shrewsbury, Shropshire, and Welshpool, Powys.
Working from these two fantastic locations gives me the opportunity to support clients where they feel most comfortable.
I also offer online counselling across the UK.
A free 30 minute introductory session for you to ask any questions you might have about the therapy process is available via Zoom or over the phone.
Full sessions are 50 minutes and can be held weekly, fortnightly or as and when you want them and can be held virtually or face to face.
Each session costs £55, with a reduced rate available for counselling students, blue light card holders and service veterans.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07795428189 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
You can also find me on either Counselling Directory or Psychology Today.
